We warmly invite you to take a short break from your day and join us for this year’s “Akademische Mittagspause”, hosted by the Collaborative Research Center ISOQUANT (SFB1225) and the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics.

From May 7 to June 18, every Monday to Thursday at 12:30 PM, the Peterskirche in Heidelberg will be home to a special lecture series:

Quanten am Mittag – von kleinen Teilchen und großen Ideen

(“Quantum at Noon: From small particles to big ideas”)

In engaging and accessible 15-minute talks, our researchers will share the latest insights into the fascinating world of quantum physics—from the fundamental particles of matter to the frontiers of future technology. This is part of the celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science 2025 marking 100 years since the initial development of quantum mechanics.

Special highlights include English talks on May 20, June 3rd and June 16. Thursdays will feature interactive formats – a great chance to see how we are bringing quantum principles to life through hand-on demonstrations.
