The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1225 ISOQUANT at Heidelberg University, Art Hub Copenhagen, and the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen are pleased to announce that Elisa Storelli (CH/IT) has been selected for the first Art Hub Copenhagen × ISOQUANT SciArt Residency.
The residency brings together contemporary artists and quantum physicists for a six-month, transdisciplinary exchange between art and science.
Selected through an international open call, Storelli was chosen by a transdisciplinary jury consisting of:
- Lea Porsager, Artist
- Prof. Klaus Mølmer, Physicist, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen
- Tina Lorenz, Curator, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (ZKM), Karlsruhe
- Jacob Lillemose, Project Manager, Art Hub Copenhagen
- Dr. Lisa Ringena, Project Manager, CRC 1225 ISOQUANT, Heidelberg University
The jury stated:
“With a proposal that builds on her ongoing artistic exploration of time across aesthetic disciplines – from narratives and music to sculptures and images – Elisa Storelli convinced the jury members that she would be the right fit for the deep exchange between art and science that the residency sets out to facilitate.
Besides her experience with working in advanced scientific contexts, she also demonstrated an impressive knowledge of her subject matter – time – that the jury thinks will inspire the scientific communities that she will engage with during her residency.”
Storelli will begin her residency in fall 2025, spending time at Heidelberg University, the Niels Bohr Institute, and Art Hub Copenhagen, where she will work closely with researchers, scientists, and curators from the participating institutions.
About Elisa Storelli
Elisa Storelli is a Swiss-Italian artist based between Brissago and Berlin, whose practice centers around an artistic investigation of time, a research field she refers to as chronomorphology. Through installations, lectures, and sound performances, she explores poetic and conceptual approaches to temporal structures and experiences. Since 2021, she has been a research fellow in the binational program for artists at the University of the Arts Bremen (HfK Bremen).
Storelli’s work has been presented at institutions and festivals including Kunsthaus Zürich, LLUM Barcelona, Hamburger Bahnhof (Berlin), GAK Bremen, CCA Ujazdowski Castle (Warsaw), and the Changwon Sculpture Biennale (South Korea). In 2023, she was awarded the Connect India Residency by ARTS·AT·CERN and Pro Helvetia.
About the SciArt Residency
The SciArt Residency is a joint initiative of CRC 1225 ISOQUANT (Heidelberg University), Art Hub Copenhagen, and the Niels Bohr Institute (University of Copenhagen). The program invites artists from across disciplines to engage with leading researchers in quantum physics through a six-month residency in Copenhagen and Heidelberg, followed by a curatorial and public presentation phase. The residency includes full institutional support, production funding, access to research and studio facilities, and culminates in public presentations in both cities.
