Work in progress, open questions, and scientific challenges are particularly welcome! Take this opportunity to gain fresh perspectives, receive constructive feedback, and explore new ideas together.
Want to present? Submit your abstract (max. 250 words) by 6 November 2026.
16:00–17:30 | Failing Forward in Academia
What we don’t usually talk about: failures, challenges & lessons learned in research.
Behind every successful academic career are setbacks, rejected proposals, failed experiments, and unexpected challenges.
Join us for an open conversation about the less visible sides of academic life, what we can learn from failure, and how to build a more supportive research culture.
Our guests:
- Dr. Michelle Giez – Forum Wissenschaftsreflexion, Leibniz Universität Hannover
- Prof. Dr. Klaus Blaum – MPIK Heidelberg
- Prof. Dr. Matthias Bartelmann – Institute for Theoretical Physics, Heidelberg University
- Prof. Dr. Belina von Krosigk – Kirchhoff Institute for Physics, Heidelberg University
18:00 | Networking Dinner
Let’s end the day with a relaxed dinner, good conversations, and the opportunity to connect with colleagues.
